Christian Deplante

Born 1949 in France

Since 1992 in ‘The Vietnam Years’, Deplante had regular solo exhibitions in Ho Chi Minh City with his
“Vietnam Travel Journals” and in France at Bonlieu Scene National (Annecey) and the House of
Indochina (Paris), Artpreciation (Hongkong), Eagle‘s Eye Art Gallery, and Artfolio (Singapore)

From a very young age, Deplante has been attracted to and inspired by Asia. From
1971 to 1974, Deplante worked as a director at an animated movie company with his wife, Tara. Between
1986-1987 they were in charge of decorating the interior of the First Himalayan Temple in Europe, the
Kagyu-Ling (France). Since 1987, they were in charge of the production of many monumental settings,
installations and shows internationally. In 1993, Deplante opened his own Art Gallery with his wife in Ho
Chi Minh City, which was closed in December 2019 when they decided to retire in France. In 2000 they
opened a second gallery in Siem Reap (Cambodia – Angkor). Their artworks can be found in many
private collections around the world. They currently live in France and collaborate with Tobian Art
Gallery.
